Staš Grandi, DMD, MSD

Dr. Grandi is originally from the great state of South Dakota, but he has lived all over the world! Dr. Grandi spent 8 years in Miami, FL (Go Canes!) completing his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He was then honored to be selected as a United States Naval Officer and completed 5 years of active duty service, with all 5 years being overseas. While in the military, he was chosen to be a part of several amazing teams of professionals that traveled around the world learning the best techniques in dentistry from the most accomplished clinicians, received mentorship from the brightest minds in leadership, and had the privilege of treating the men and women of the armed forces of not only the United States but also our Allied Nations. After completing his active duty military service, Dr. Grandi was humbled at the opportunity to continue his professional education at the world-renowned Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics residency program of the University of Colorado. He’s practiced dentistry in the US, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, and as such, he has seen and been able to treat the entire spectrum of orthodontic problems.

“I was very fortunate to receive orthodontic treatment in my teenage years and to experience first-hand the effect a smile can have on someone’s self-esteem. I can remember talking to my orthodontist when I was 14 years old and learning how intricate, precise, and complicated orthodontic treatment can be. I’ve always had a passion for learning, and when I found out how challenging it is to create beautiful smiles, I immediately knew that I wanted to pursue this profession. I’ve dedicated my life to learning as much as possible about the art and science of orthodontics so that my patients can achieve their best smile and have the confidence to pursue their passions!”

Dr. Grandi has a wide range of interests and is constantly learning new things. Dr. Grandi’s parents have always been immersed in music and art with his father being an accomplished musician and his mother being a certified master of sewing and quilting. “My siblings and I grew up tinkering with all kinds of instruments and working with our hands to create things.” This upbringing has fostered Dr. Grandi’s creativity and his insatiable appetite for learning. “In my free time, I love to experiment with music or work on projects with my hands. I’m no Jimi Hendrix nor Bob-The-Builder, but I can play a few songs on the guitar and I’ve been known to design and build a landscape or two!” Dr. Grandi added, “While in residency, my friends and I bought a house and completely remodeled it inside and out, doing the majority of the work ourselves, weekend-warrior style. Over the process, I learned a lot about architectural drawings and interior design, which I’ve found to be fascinating!” Dr. Grandi has a big family, so keeping up-to-date on their activities as well as enjoying the great outdoors of Colorado are also ways he enjoys spending his free time.

“I truly believe that having a great smile helps to give you the confidence to get out of your comfort zone and pursue your passions. Day-in and day-out, my team and I help patients of all ages to realize the true potential of their smile. Whether you are looking for an enhancement of an already nice smile, or whether you are in need of complex orthognathic surgery to correct the position of your jaws, together, we will find a way to give you your best smile so that you can live your best life!”

In addition to traditional braces, Dr. Grandi’s extensive training has given him expertise in clear aligner therapy (Invisalign, Clear Correct), self-ligating braces (Damon braces), lingual braces (braces on the backside of the teeth), Phase I treatment (braces for children as young as 7 years old), growth modification (treatment for children whose jaws are growing abnormally), temporomandibular joint disorder treatment (TMJ treatment), cleft lip and palate treatment, and orthognathic surgery treatment (surgical treatment for adults whose jaws have grown abnormally).

I am proud to be able to provide orthodontic treatment to the residents of Arlington Heights and neighboring areas,” says Arlington Heights’ orthodontist, Dr. Yarmolyuk.

After completing his undergraduate studies in Biology, Dr. Yaroslav Yarmolyuk attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), College of Dentistry, where he received extensive theoretical and clinical training in dentistry. During his studies at UIC, Dr. Yarmolyuk obtained a Bachelor of Science in Dentistry and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. Dr. Yarmolyuk was involved in a variety of research and leadership activities and is a recipient of multiple honors and awards.

Stephen W. Andrews, DMD, MS

Dr. Andrews has been practicing orthodontics for twenty five years. Dr. Andrews received his Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech and then went on to receive his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from The Medical College of Georgia (1982), where he was in the top 10% of his class.

He received his Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the University of North Carolina in 1989. He had assignments in England, Alaska, and the U.S. Air Force Academy, retiring as a full colonel after serving 26 years. Dr. Andrews became interested in orthodontics as a result of his experience during his general practice Residency experience in the Air Force. This experience helped him realize the importance of a beautiful smile and how it affects a person’s self-esteem.

Dr. Andrews and his wife, Julie, have three daughters ~ Marie and granddaughter Layla, who live in Denver; Shannon, who lives in Denver; and Kylie, who is in high school; as well as one son, Josh, Kailyn and grandson Orlen, who reside in Colorado Springs.

Dr. Andrews was certified as a Diplomate of The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) in February 1995. The American Board of Orthodontics is the only certifying organization for the specialty of orthodontics that is recognized by the American Dental Association and sponsored by the American Association of Orthodontists. The American Board of Orthodontics was established in 1929 and was the third certifying board in the health professions and the first in dentistry.

Board certification is an elective process and not every orthodontist undertakes this rigorous, lengthy and ongoing examination process. It is intended to provide assurance to the public that an orthodontic specialist has successfully completed an approved educational program and an evaluation process which includes an examination designed to assess the knowledge, skills and clinical expertise required to provide quality patient care. Completion of this process is an indication of an orthodontist’s commitment to establish and maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence in orthodontics.
